Local Prudential agents will collect non-perishable foods and personal hygiene items through Oct. 1 at all of their offices and open houses.
Donations will support local food banks and make a difference in the communities that Prudential serves.
The donation collection is part of a national volunteer initiative that began 11 years ago by Prudential Financial as a way to involve as many employees as possible in their local communities.
This is the second year of involvement for Prudential's South Sound offices.
Last year, volunteers donated $14,200 in cash and over 12,000 pounds of food in the South Sound area.
With the food collected, 150 families were able to eat three meals a day for seven days.
This year Prudential hopes to help even more families through this community effort.
Call 1-800-421-2536 for a donation site near you, or look for Prudential's open house signs.
On Saturday, Oct. 1, keep an eye out at your local grocery store for agents flashing signs and warm smile awaiting your generous donations.
