We live in a community can only be successful if all members accept personal responsibility for their actions. The pit bulls that killed Arthur should be put down and the owners prosecuted for the slaughter of a loved pet that gave an innocent person much pleasure.
How many children or pets need to be killed or maimed before pit bulls are either outlawed or required to have additional licensing with severe consequences to the owners of the animals that cause harm? Anyone who has a pit bull knows that the breed is at higher risk of aggression than other breeds of dogs. To those people that say it is not the dog, it is the owner, the owners should then be willing to accept the consequences of criminal prosecution if their dog maims or kills a human or a another animal.
Has anyone ever heard of a golden retriever or dachshund maiming a child or an animal?
