Congratulations to Normandy Park! For the first time in many, many years, we have new candidates running for all three city council positions up for election on Nov. 8.

Usually our city council positions go uncontested, leaving us with long-term "career" council members. New voices and ideas are desperately needed.

The three candidates, Sonja Lindquist, David Hohimer and Jon Hardy, have young families and are therefore involved in the community and schools. I applaud them for their desire to get involved and their obvious commitment to Normandy Park.

We "retired" residents need to support this new generation of candidates and cast our votes for their "new voices" on Nov. 8.
