In response to "House Meets Height Law" of Nov. 2.
The new "dream house" being built by Vassil Dimitrov on the water side of the 4200 Block of Beach Drive is now blocking the view of the water for most owners of condos and apartments across the street.
Contrary to Mr. Dimitrov's statement, how could any of us be happy with this four-story house? He already has a water view but I would like to show him how his large house affects my view.
We have invested a lot of money in our homes, are strongly committed to the environment and our dreams have dramatically diminished.
Our understanding is that there are plans for building in the two adjacent lots, which will eliminate our view entirely.
The present loopholes that are the present zoning should be eliminated and call for a change in the zoning as it now exists.
Anyone living in West Seattle should be concerned about four-story houses canceling out views.
I am sending this letter to Alan Justad of Seattle Planning and Design, Larry Altose for State Department of Ecology and Greg Nickels, mayor of Seattle.
