It seems unnecessary and completely disingenuous of the Burien City Council to be fast tracking the annexation of North Highline prior to the seating of the newly elected Council.
Why is there such urgency on such a critical decision that impacts so many citizens? Is anyone really comfortable that it is being done on the run - with inadequate citizen outreach and input, lacking full planning committee disclosure, no time nor apparent desire to allow North Highline residents to evaluate Seattle’s information and a seemingly complete disregard for city government transparency.
I’m sure this isn’t the intended effect but it nevertheless appears suspicious and warrants the common courtesy to slow down and allow this decision to be made in a deliberate and reasoned manner.
Please let the Burien City Council know there is no need to fast tracking this critical issue with such long-term economic impact.
