On Dec. 1, my husband, Gilbert K. Schaller, fell onto the floor while I was attempting to put him into his wheelchair.

Since my neighbors were not available to help me, I called 9-1-1. Two firefighters (Ryan Anderson and Ross Britt) from the Burien Fire Department came to my rescue.

I want to thank them and to remind everyone how lucky we are to have such professionals in the Burien Fire Department.
