The public seems confused about North Highline Annexation.

First, the Burien City Manager stated that he is “NOT in favor of annexation of North Highline.”

This is a direct quote by Gary Long at the December 9 meeting of the Burien Business and Economic Development Partnership.

The issue of whether or not to declare a PAA (Potential Annexation Area) confuses the issue. He is FOR the declaration of a PAA simply as a way to remain at the negotiating table should other cities declare their own PAA.

Again, he is not for annexing North Highline given the financial facts that have been carefully developed by Burien city staff.
