I want to say how very much I enjoy "Jerry's View," particularly the way you talk about your relationship with your wife.

It throws into sharp contrast Steve Johnston's "Sunday Punch," which runs in the Seattle Times' Pacific Northwest magazine. I had to give up reading it because he insists on referring to his wife as "the Truly Unpleasant Mrs. Johnston." How perfectly awful.

I'm sure you and Elsbeth have your disagreements, but it's lovely to read you writing about her as "your bride." In this age of divorce and dysfunctional relationships, it's sweet to see a man refer with affection to his wife. And there's nothing wrong with sweet, either.
