Washington State Ferries customers traveling for the holidays need only know that since both Christmas Day and New Years' Day fall on Sundays, ferries will be observing the holiday on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

The Fauntleroy/Vashon/ Southworth route will operate the regular Sunday schedule on both Christmas Day and New Year's Day and will operate a Monday schedule on Dec. 26. There will be no Seattle/Vashon passenger only service on either Monday, Dec. 26 or Monday, Jan. 2.

The Seattle/Bainbridge Island route will be on a Saturday schedule on Saturday, Dec. 24 and a Sunday schedule on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. They will also be on a Saturday schedule on Monday, Dec. 26. Sunday, Jan. 1, the route will sail on a Sunday schedule and on Monday, Jan. 2; the route will sail on a Saturday schedule.

The Seattle/Bremerton route will operate the regular Sunday schedule on both Christmas Day and New Year's Day and will operate a Monday schedule on Dec. 26.

The Point Defiance/Tahlequah route will operate on a holiday schedule, Saturday, Dec. 24. On Sunday, Dec. 25 and on Monday, Dec. 26, the route will operate on a Sunday schedule. This route will also sail on a Sunday schedule both New Year's Day and Monday, Jan. 2.

The Anacortes/San Juan routes and the Port Townsend/Keystone routes will operate the regular Sunday schedule on both Christmas Day and New Year's Day and will operate a Monday schedule on Dec. 26.

The Mukilteo/Clinton route may add an extra evening sailing on Thursday and Friday evening, Dec. 22 and 23rd, depending on traffic. Both Saturday, Dec. 24 and Sunday, Dec. 25, the Mukilteo/Clinton route will be on a Saturday sailing schedule and on Monday, Dec. 26, the route will sail on a Sunday schedule. On New Years Day, Sunday, Jan. 1 and Monday, Jan. 2, the Mukilteo/Clinton route will be on a Sunday schedule.

The Edmonds/Kingston route will be on a Saturday schedule on Saturday, Dec. 24 and a Sunday schedule on Sunday, Dec. 25. On Monday, Dec. 26, this route will sail on a Saturday schedule. The Edmonds/Kingston route will also sail on the Sunday schedule for h Jan. 1, New Year's Day, and a Saturday schedule on Monday, Jan. 2.
