A local teen was and forced into a car in the Westwood area, taken to Burien and beaten so badly that he ended up at Harborview getting his jaw wired shut. The victim said he was targeted because he was "dressed like a black guy." The victim and the three suspects, who remain at large, are Caucasian.
A driver passing Hiawatha Playfield Tuesday called 911 when he saw a youth waving a handgun. Officers found the suspect inside West Seattle High School, and he had what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun sticking out of his waistband. Officers secured the weapon and took the 15-year-old into custody. Although the weapon turned out to be a pellet gun, it had been purposely modified to resemble a real gun and had both a laser sight and a clip magazine. The teen was booked into the Youth Service Center for investigation of possessing a dangerous weapon at a school facility. He will be expelled from school.
On Friday, several West Seattle students were involved in a fight at Hiawatha with three nonstudents, allegedly over an existing disagreement. They will likely be expelled from school. Two of the suspects were interviewed and released, but trespassed from the high school and from the playfield. A third suspect remains at large.
A woman grabbed her friend's prescription medications and told her she could have them back for $20. She then drove off, leaving the victim behind at the drugstore. While officers spoke to the victim, the suspect called the victim's cell phone and told her to walk down Barton street alone and to bring $20 cash. After being given a description of the suspect, another officer found her. The woman admitted she had stolen the pills and showed the officer where she had hidden them. The 41-year-old suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery, extortion, and drug charges
On 29th SW, a man woke up and saw the rear sliding-glass door of his home open. He then saw that his keys and wallet were missing from a nearby countertop. So it was no surprise when he looked outside and saw that someone had stolen his car.
An anti-crime team served a narcotics search warrant on a local home on Tuesday and found a marijuana grow operation, three handguns, nine long guns, heroin, cocaine, and over $55 thousand dollars. The 48-year-old suspect admitted that he didn't have a job, that he sold drugs to pay his bills, and that he had been selling drugs since he was 18 years old. He will be booked into King County Jail for investigation of drug charges.
A Morgan Junction business owner was robbed at closing time by a man who threatened her with a wooden club. The suspect is a white male in his late 40s, with graying hair and slim build. He wore and olive green, hip-length hooded jacket and wire-rimmed glasses.
After checking her bank accounts, a local woman reports that unknown persons in Chicago and Russia have used an ATM machine to steal $998. The victim says she has never lost her card or PIN code.
Representatives from AT&T told a local business owner that he owes over $20 thousand in overseas phone call charges. The man is concerned, since no one at the business would make such calls.
