Many thanks to you Elsbeth for once again saving Jerry's posterior and providing him with your fine salad dressing recipe. Jan and I prepared it last night and after our kitchen gyrations came up with a reasonable replica of what Jerry most generously provided for his far reaching readership.

Jan thought it needed vinegar after first glancing at the formula, but I insisted going by the "masters'" instructions. Thankfully I prevailed, kind of the way you let Jerry win occasionally, too, Elsbeth. I know that's a fact because he always speaks so highly of you, so he can't be too prevailed upon!

We served the salad with saut/ed shrimp and homemade focaccia bread which was a prefect complement. The dressing was wonderful and both Jan and I want to thank you for your collaboration in providing it to the Times/News and hence us.
