Violence victim wanted to walk it off
1. Officers responded to a domestic violence call at the Greystone Apartments on the 31000 block of 18th Avenue South. The incident involved a physical altercation where a woman reported that her boyfriend assaulted her. She then told police that she did not want to provide a statement. The woman also refused photographs and medical aid. Officers could not locate the boyfriend, and the woman decided to leave the area on foot against the officers' advice.
Custody battle turns violent
2. A woman contacted police to report an assault she and her daughter incurred at the hand of her boyfriend, who is the father of the child. The couple had lived together in the past and were involved in a dating relationship. The confrontation began on the 33800 block of Hoyt Road Southwest, where the boyfriend began demanding custody of the couple's daughter. The boyfriend reached into the car and grabbed her hair and began punching the woman's head. The woman tried driving away, but the boyfriend grabbed the steering wheel and forced the car off the road, causing a collision with a tree. The woman told officers she believes the boyfriend accidentally punched their four-year-old daughter during the assault.
Dad tries to hide fugitive son
3. Officers arrived at a residence on the 35700 block of 3rd Avenue South to serve a warrant for a hit-and-run. The father of the suspect, William R. Riles, answered the door and initially told officers his son was not there. The officers then reminded the father that his son had a warrant out for his arrest. He continued to deny that his son was there. After further discussion, officers convinced the father to admit that the suspect was, in fact, at the residence. The father went inside to get his son, who was then detained by the police.
Thieves steal keys, later the car
4. The registered owner of a gray 2005 Volkswagen told police that she parked her car outside her residence on the 200 block of 346th Lane South around 10 p.m. She went outside around 2:30 a.m. to walk her dog and discovered that her car was gone. The woman told police that her car keys were stolen from Redondo's restaurant on the 27200 block of Pacific Highway South approximately two weeks prior to the incident. She said the keys were removed from her table and she has no idea who took them.
Would-be drunk driver stopped
5. Officers responded to a domestic dispute involving a couple who lives on the 2700 block of Southwest 330th Street. The suspect was intoxicated and attempted to leave the location in a vehicle. The victim tried to block the doorway in order to prevent the suspect from driving. In an attempt to get by the blocked doorway, the suspect bit the victim in the arm. Officers arrested the suspect for fourth-degree assault and domestic violence.
BPA trail walker has wallet stolen
6. A woman who was walking the BPA trail near the 1500 block of Southwest 356th Street called the police to report that her vehicle was broken into while parked near the BPA trail. The woman reports she left her wallet inside her vehicle while she went on a walk, but made sure to hide it out of sight. She feels someone might have been watching her in the parking lot. She returned to her vehicle and found the driver's side door of her 1993 Ford left open and her wallet missing.
