RESOLUTION NO. 2006-03
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SOUTHWEST SUBURBAN SEWER DISTRICT, KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON, DECLARING ITS INTENT TO ANNEX THE AREA REFERRED TO AS 2006-01 ISLAND ANNEXATION - GREGORY HEIGHTS DIVISION NO. 3.
WHEREAS, RCW 57.24.170 authorizes the District to annex certain areas within or adjacent to the District's jurisdictional boundaries when such areas contain less than 100 acres and at least 80% of the boundaries of such areas are contiguous to the District; and
WHEREAS, the area referred to herein as 2006-01 Island Annexation - Gregory Heights Division No. 3 is an area which meets the statutory criteria set forth in RCW 57.24.170, in that the subject annexation area is 19 acres in size and 100% of the area's boundaries are contiguous to the District's boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the boundaries of the proposed annexation area referred to herein as 2006-01 Island Annexation - Gregory Heights Division No. 3 are set forth and legally described in Exhibit "A" and depicted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the District believes that there are approximately 53 registered voters residing within the proposed annexation area; and
WHEREAS, the District believes it is in the best interest of the District and the residents and property owners within the proposed annexation area to be annexed into the District; and
WHEREAS, the District's Board of Commissioners desires to have a public hearing on the proposed annexation of such area in accordance with the requirements of RCW 57.24.170 and 57.24.180.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Southwest Suburban Sewer District, King County, Washington, as follows:
1. The Board of Commissioners of Southwest Suburban Sewer District, by this Resolution, hereby declares its intent to annex the area referred to herein as 2006-01 Island Annexation - Gregory Heights Division No. 3, as generally described herein and as legally described in Exhibit "A" and depicted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto.
2. A public hearing regarding the District's intent to annex the area referred to herein as 2006-01 Island Annexation - Gregory Heights Division No. 3 shall be scheduled for March 7, 2006, commencing at 6:00 p.m. at the District's office for the purpose of taking public comments from the residents and/or property owners for the area regarding the District's intent to annex this area by subsequent resolution.
3. The District's employees are directed to publish a notice of hearing in the manner required by RCW 57.24.170 relating to the District's intent to annex this area by subsequent resolution.
ADOPTED by the Board of Commissioners of the Southwest Suburban Sewer District, King County, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof held on this 7th day of February, 2006.

A portion of Section 25, Township 23 North, Range 3 East W.M. situated in King County, Washington, described as follows:
Beginning at a point at the intersection of the centerline of SW 172nd St. (formerly Sylvester Road) and Sylvester Road SW;
Thence north and east along the centerline of said Sylvester Road SW to the intersection of east line of Section 25;
Thence northerly along the East line of said Section 25 to its intersection with the North line of Lot 25, Block 3 of the Assessors Plat of Normandy Park Highlands according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume 347 of Plats, Pages 33 and 34, records of King County, Washington;
Thence Westerly along the North line of said Lot 25 to the Northwest corner thereof;
Thence Southerly and Southwesterly along the Northwest line of said lot 25 to its intersection with the East line of Lot 23, Block 3, of said Assessors Plat of Normandy Park Highlands;
Thence Southerly along the East line of said Lot 23 to the Southeast corner thereof;
Thence Westerly along the South line of said Lot 23 to the Southwest corner thereof, which lies on the East line of Lot 3 Block 17, Gregory Heights Division No. 3 according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume 24, Pages 27, records of King County, Washington;
Thence Northerly along the East line of said Lot 3 to the Northeast corner thereof;
Thence Westerly along the North line of Block 17, of said Gregory Heights Division No. 3, Lots 1 and 2 of Hillcrest View Heights, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume 74 of Plats, Page 55, records of King County Washington and the South line of Lot 21, Block 3, of said Assessors Plat of Normandy Park Highlands to the intersection with the centerline of SW Hillcrest Road;
Thence Southeasterly along the centerline of said SW Hillcrest Road to its intersection with the Northeasterly extension of the Southeasterly line of Lot 1, Block 16 of said Gregory Heights Division No. 3;
Thence Southwesterly along the Southeasterly line of said Lot 1, Block 16 and its Southwesterly extension to its intersection with the centerline of SW 172nd Street, formerly S.W. Sylvester Road;
Thence Southeasterly along the centerline of S.W. Sylvester Road to the point of beginning.
