Construction thieves take sides
1. Representatives of Woodinville Construction contacted the Federal Way police to report the theft of more than $1,200 in OSB siding. The thieves lifted more than 60 sheets of the siding from the construction site on the 33500 block of 42nd Avenue South. The company reported that they have had a severe theft problem from that site in the past.
Kid Napper trespassed from park
2. On a routine inspection of Steel Lake Park at 2645 South 312th Street, Federal Way officers found a woman asleep in her white 1992 Chevrolet in the parking lot. The woman provided officers with two false date-of-births during their investigation. The woman was arrested for unlawful entry into the park and providing false information to officers. She was transported to the FWPD and released to her father.
Saturday night's alright for fighting
3. Officers arrived at the scene of a fight on the 29600 block of 18th Avenue South. The victim claimed he was assaulted by his daughter's boyfriend. He admitted the fight was mutual, but officers determined that the boyfriend was the obvious primary aggressor. Officers arrested the boyfriend and booked him in jail on a fourth degree domestic violence assault charge.

4. Officers arrived at the scene of malicious mischief that occurred on the 32700 block of 6th Avenue Southwest. The owners of the house told police that the suspect dropped their daughter off at the house and had a heated exchange of words. The daughter told officers that the suspect ran up to the front door and began banging on it. The boyfriend left. After a while, the victim went out to check the mail and discovered that the rear window of her silver 2005 Honda was smashed. She suspects the boyfriend in the crime. Officers spoke with the neighbors, but none of them witnessed the incident.
Car break-in leads to possible ID theft
5. Officers followed up on a vehicle break-in that occurred on the 1400 block of South 320th Street. The owner of the vehicle contacted police to report that someone smashed the driver's side and rear window of their gold 2003 Pontiac, causing $850 in damage. Thieves also stole the owner's birth certificate and Social Security card. There is no suspect information, and officers have closed the case pending new leads.

6. The driver of a green 1994 Toyota contacted police to report the theft of her vehicle from her residence on the 30000 block of 13th Avenue South. She told officers that the thieves took the spare car key from under her doormat and stole the car from her driveway. Officers later found the car abandoned on the shoulder near South 304th Street. The car key, however, was not recovered. Federal Way police lifted three fingerprints from the scene using latent cards and booked them into evidence.
Woman robbed in Wal-Mart
7. A woman contacted police to report that some unknown persons stole $525 in currency from her purse while she shopped at the Wal-Mart store at 1900 South 314th Street. Officers could not collect any evidence or witness accounts, but there may be some video surveillance footage from Wal-Mart that they can analyze. At this time, there will be no further investigation pending new leads.
Drunks determined to get their caffeine fix
8. Representatives from the Starbucks coffee shop at 2032 South 320th Street contacted police after security guards at the business asked three intoxicated males to leave the area. The report indicated the males were acting unruly and refused to leave. One of the subjects threatened to get a gun and shoot a security guard. Federal Way police arrived 10 minutes after the call and the three men were still on the scene. The men were arrested and charged with trespassing and harassment.
Hit-and-run driver fuels-and-splits
9. Witnesses of a hit-and-run incident at the Chevron gas station at 34727 Pacific Highway South reported that a female driver of a black 2000 Chevrolet backing into a pump. The woman fueled her vehicle and noticed the damage to the pump. The woman made no attempt to notify Chevron and left the scene. One of the witnesses said he could identify the driver if seen again.
