At last Thursday's Town Hall meeting, Stacy Flores explained what this string of letters means in the real world.

Oh, I see. In other words, you want to meet face to face.

Most of us know what LOL or FAQ means, but did you know there is a dictionary-sized glossary of acronyms that every parent, or peruser of dating sites should know?

BBW means big, beautiful woman, aka a women who is a plus size. HHOK means ha ha only kidding. IMHO - in my humble opinion.

This list goes on, but where does one find out what these initials stand for?

Flores distributed handouts explaining the acronyms and how parents can keep an eye on their child's interactions on the Internet at the latest "Town Meeting" presentations. Are they just talking to their friends, or are they unwittingly setting up F2F dates to meet with a pedophilic?

Flores, the FWPD public information officer, spoke to a crowd of six. in the council chambers at city hall. She started out by explaining the difference between a molester and a pedophilic.

A molester is usually someone respected in the community, someone who has a good job and responsibilities, most often someone in the family.

"A model citizen, usually," said Flores.

A pedophilic is someone who "usually can't keep a job, one who doesn't have his life together," explained Flores.

Flores then gave a lucid presentation, which was recorded and available on the city's website, on not only how to decipher, but how to escape identity theft.

Make sure you have firewall. Check your bank balance often via the online website. And never, never answer junk mail.
