A rockin' good musical comedy that will have audiences singing, "Let's get angry!," is coming to Burien. Angry Housewives by A.M. Collins and Chad Henry will open at Burien Little Theatre Friday, March 10.
The story revolves around four "desperate" and angry housewives, frustrated with their everyday lives and kept in insignificance by their husbands or boyfriends.
Then one day, one of them strikes a chord on her guitar and suggests they form a punk rock group to enter a talent show at a local club. "The Angry Housewives" are born.
Audiences will enjoy this musical tale of four middle-aged suburbanites who dive into the world of rock and roll and cheesy nightclubs while surviving
the curiosity and embarrassment of their husbands, boyfriends and teenage sons.
A cult hit during the 1980s, Angry Housewives played for eight years at Seattle’s Pioneer Square Theatre.
Stage director Diane Major and music director Sara Hanson are the veteran thespians at the helm this Burien Little Theatre production. The show also features the talents of Nick Bradford, Doug Cottrill, Gavin Donnellan, Bruce Erickson, Stacie Hart, Laurie Samora, Laura Sweany and Gail Wamba.
This musical comedy runs through April 2, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Angry Housewives is not suitable for children younger than 13.
General admission is $15 for Fridays and Saturdays, and $13 on Sundays.
Tickets for students and senior citizens are $13. Groups of 10 or more get in for $12 each.
Opening night is Red Hat Ladies Night, which has already sold out, and a second Red Hat Ladies Night is set for Friday, March 17.
Members of Red Hat Society groups are invited to enjoy this evening of theater and fun with their Red Hat sisters. Red Hat groups of 10 or more get in for the special rate of $12 per person.
