It's time to remind each other why we should shop locally and support small businesses. We are fortunate in Burien to have such wonderful businesses as Dan the Sausageman, Sweet Petula’s, Han’s Deli, Lollipops, etc. Our experience with Nielsen Bros., though, is that which I wish to discuss.

Recently my husband and I needed to replace carpets in our two bedrooms, and as conscientious shoppers with a tight budget, we searched for sales, traveled around the city and then returned to where our first instincts guided us, to Nielsen Bros. Flooring Inc. in Burien. Even before my husband and I walked out and had a moment to discuss our intentions, we each independently decided we wanted to make our purchase with Nielsen Bros.

Scott was our fabulous sales representative who was knowledgeable, accommodating and informative, and gave us the space to explore on our own. But he was available for our questions and to offer recommendations. He gave us a generous number of samples to take home and when we could not decide on a color or style, Scott sent us home with more.

We did purchase carpets for both rooms and had them installed two weeks later and loved them. However, after a period of time which seemed too long, we still encountered a smell in one of the rooms that was intended for our newborn. The room remained empty for several weeks airing out, but never seemed to clear out. I phoned Scott, spoke to the manager, Craig, and within three weeks, they removed the carpet and pad that were installed weeks before and replaced them with a new and different carpet, all without a charge.

Not only did Nielsen Bros. do this out of obligation and concern for our health, they did it graciously and without suspect. They were courteous and pleasant. We will recommend them to anyone looking to purchase carpets or flooring. Thank you Nielsen Bros.!
