Let's Deep-Six Mayor Nickel's Alaskan way and seawall replacement project
Is Mayor Greg Nickel's losing support for his Alaskan Way Tunnel Project? Is the mayor's team so worried they're losing this expensive, highly debated project that they're peppering the public with invitations to attend meetings explaining themselves?
There's a grass root organization, the Viaduct Preservation Group, gaining membership everyday, providing workable alternatives to Mayor Nickel's proposal.
Mayor Nickels and Doug McDonald (address ed the recent meeting) they're sponsoring at the Seattle Aquarium (recently). Following that drum-beating ceremony, they're sponsoring a tour to show the "damage first hand," Saturday, March 18.
These meetings promise to provide great opportunities to ask though questions of the mayor. But most important, they promise a chance to listen to informed citizens with other views.
If you can't attend theses gatherings, pepper the mayor's office with phone calls, letters, e-mails, demanding that his tunnel-versioned Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Project be deep-sixed.
And add your name to the Viaduct Preservation Group (at) 935-4625.
