Thief steals keys, truck while victim naps
1. A man contacted police to report the theft or unauthorized use of his blue 1989 Ford while parked at a friends house on the 29000 block of 18th Avenue South. The man told police that he left his keys in his coat pocket while he took a nap. When he awoke, he noticed his keys, his Ford truck and another acquaintance at the residence were gone. He is not certain whether the suspect took the vehicle. Officers are investigating the whereabouts of the suspect.
Music thieves on the loose
2. Sometime between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., thieves broke into a man's vehicle parked on the 35100 block of Enchanted Parkway South. The suspect(s) entered the blue 1994 Ford by smashing the passenger side window, causing $150 in damage. The victim told police the thieves removed the faceplate from his CD player (valued at $200), and then lifted 150 CDs from the vehicle. The CDs carried a value of more than $2,500. Officers have no suspect information and have closed the case pending new leads.
Guest becomes suspect in cash theft
3. Two victims of petty theft who live on the 2400 block of South 316th Lane. The victims told Federal Way officers that neither of them witnessed the suspect take the money ($200 in cash) from one the victim's wallet. They awoke and found the money missing. The two contacted the suspect, a woman, and she denied taking the money. They told officers the suspect left the scene around 4:10 a.m. in a taxi.
Meth found in FW holding cell
4. Lieutenant Norman of the Federal Way PD conducted a routine inspection of holding cells at the station, located at 33325 8th Avenue South. In one of the cells, Lt. Norman found a clear bag containing white crystallized substance wedged between a bench. Federal Way officers have no idea who owns the meth or when that person left it there. The meth was submitted to evidence for destruction.
Abuser sent to jail
5. A woman, who lives in a unit at an apartment complex at 1900 Southwest Campus Drive, contacted police to report that a man with whom she cohabitates punched her in the face. The blow caused the woman injury, but she declined medical aid from the officers. The victim told police that she and the suspect were in a dating relationship. Officers arrested the suspect on the charge of assault 4 and booked him into the Fife Jail.
Victim discovers stolen property at local pawn shop
6. While shopping at the Pawn Exchange at 1927 Southwest 322nd Place, a victim of theft discovered some of his stolen property that an unknown suspect pawned at the shop. The victim produced the original packaging and serial number, which matched the stolen property.
Remnants of meth lab found in FW
7. A bystander contacted police to report a suspicious-looking black duffle bag on the sidewalk near the 1000 block of Southwest 319th Place. Officers responded to the call and located the bag. Inside, he found a quart of acetone, a quart of muriatic acid, a gallon of Coleman fuel, an HCL generator and clumps of white granulated material that resembled salt. Detective Clark of the FWPD arranged for the Department of Ecology to remove the chemicals.
