While conducting a strip search,/b> on a 26-year-old drug suspect, officers saw a twisted piece of plastic protruding from the man's rectum. The man refused to remove it and told officers to "get a warrant." They did, and took the suspect to Harborview for a search. While moving the patient to a gurney, an officer felt a lump in the suspect's coat sleeve, which turned out to be the clear plastic bag covered with feces. (He had managed to move it while being driven to the hospital.) It contained 4.2 grams of crack cocaine. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of drug charges.
In the same South Park locale, officers witnessed several interactions that seemed consistent with drug dealing, so they arrested a 24-year-old Tukwila resident on Monday afternoon. At the precinct, a strip search disclosed a bag in the man's "buttock area," which held 1.3 grams of crack cocaine. He also had $373 in cash. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of drug charges and on an outstanding Department of Corrections charge.
The Medical Examiner's office is examining some bones discovered by a workman who was digging a hole beneath a concrete basement floor in North Admiral.
Thursday evening, in a rear parking area in the 9000 block of 35th SW, a man was knocked unconscious by someone wielding a beer bottle. His car was stolen and later found ablaze in the 2100 block of E. Denny Way downtown.
Two weeks ago, a woman hired a fourteen-year-old babysitter for the evening and then never returned for the child. The sitter continued to care for the child, but finally called an acquaintance, who contacted Child Protective Services. The infant, clean and in good health, was placed into a foster home.
A couple reports,/b> that unknown persons have withdrawn $20,000 from their home equity line of credit at a local bank.
Someone stole a porta potty,/b> from a West Seattle construction site over the weekend. Though nothing mysterious was seen or heard, the manufacturer's materials state that it would require two people and a truck to move it. $900 loss.
After seeing her car drive through a four-way stop,/b>, an officer pulled over a woman in the 8700 block of 16th SW. As she rolled down the window, she exhaled a "cloud of smoke" that smelled of crack cocaine. The officer saw a glass pipe with residue on the front seat, and the woman was disoriented, with heavy eyelids. As she stood up to get out of the car, two $20 rocks of crack cocaine fell to the seat. The suspect, a 28-year-old from Graham, was booked into King County jail for investigation of drug charges.
In Highland Park,/b>, a couple was arguing over the man's staying too long after he agreed to move out of the house. During a shoving match, the man "headbutted" the woman in the forehead, raising a silver-dollar sized lump. In an attempt to get him to leave, she grabbed his keys from the table and threw them out the door. But the suspect kicked the door in, breaking the door frame. He fled on foot before officers arrived and remains at large.
A South Park woman met a young man through charity work. Knowing he has nowhere to live, she has allowed him to stay overnight occasionally. She recently discovered that her TV and DVD player were missing, and that her food-stamp card-worth $279 on March 1-had only $6.00 remaining on March 4. The suspect fled when the victim said she was calling police. He hasn't been seen since.
Clean-up costs are estimated at $500 after unknown persons spray-painted names onto the west exterior wall of Madison Middle School on a recent weekend.
Officers were called to the scene of a family disturbance early Wednesday. Two 30-year-old brothers had been out drinking together and began to argue about whether one was too drunk to drive. Apparently unable to come to a satisfactory decision, they decided to punch one another in the mouth. One brother agreed to sleep elsewhere for the night.
