Ann was born raised in West Seattle and she called lower Queen Anne her home. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and when she became ill the members rallied around her. Her favorite hang out was Larry's Market Caf/ and she knew everyone by name. Also the staff at Bartell pharmacy treated her with kindness.
She started her working career as a nurse, then worked at the Federal Building for HUD and the U.S. Office of Hearings and Appeals for over 20 years. After retirement she worked part time for Cares of Washington in West Seattle.
Ann was a kind, complex, fiercely independent, private person. Her interests included music, painting, poetry, writing, photography and she was a member of Toastmasters.
She spoke of being grateful for the doctors that tried to make her well and especially for her friend Dr. Forbes, who she said, "never let her down".
Ann is survived by her sister Jane and brother in-law Robert Hollingsworth, her Aunt Rita Clock and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Jeff and Ruth Elmer of West Seattle.
