I just read an editorial in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that says the City of Seattle may be forced out of the King County Library System for not paying its fair share of a long-standing cooperative services agreement.
Once again, the citizens of West Seattle would be penalized. Those of us in the Arbor Heights, Delridge, Roxbury, and other neighborhoods in the south of West Seattle routinely use the White Center and Burien branches of the King County Library.
Aside from convenience, in recent years it has been clear that Seattle is under funding its collections and King County has been improving. The City of Seattle seems to be getting more and more arrogant and mean spirited in its dealings with its citizens and neighbors.
Come on Seattle, don't get kicked out of the King County Library System.
