Kudos [to Ralph Nichols] for having the guts to write such a column. However, I will have to be like the rest of America and disagree with you. If you are not of Native American blood, which I am, then you were too an immigrant at some point.
These people are seeking amnesty. They are not trying to live off of welfare. Some of these people have been here for years, maybe longer than your lifetime, and they still haven't had the opportunity to claim to be a true American citizen.
An immigrant's dream is to some day accomplish the American dream, not to turn Seattle into a smaller version of Mexico City.
I think that you should check the spectrum as a whole before you make such conclusions that offend people.
I'm sure you've never even considered the labor that an immigrant does as hard labor too, huh?
