1937-2006

In loving memory, Dave left us to be with his heavenly father on April 24, 2006 in Kona Hawaii, his favorite place to stay, after several weeks of declining health. He was born to Floyd and Gladys "Toots" Norberg on September 30, 1937 in Everett, Washington and raised in West Seattle. Dave resided in West Seattle for over 60 years. He graduated from West Seattle High School and was the owner of the West Seattle Corner Inn for almost two decades. He and his brother Jerry in 1979 converted a bomb shelter on California

Avenue into a high class beer and wine tavern the Alaska Pipeline, which to this day exists as the Corner Pocket. Also at one time in his early business career he owned five tire dealerships including two in Alaska. He was very involved in his local community sponsoring the West Seattle Children's Christmas fund, which he supported for many years. He also had a political passion, which motivated him to run for King County

Council. When Dave was young he loved to spend summers at his grandfather's cabin at Priest Point. Dave loved time with his family, he was the kind of man who would put on ice skates knowing full well he would make a fool out of himself just to spend quality time with his children and grandchildren. One of his favorite times he had with his family was the summer vacations to Lake Chelan. Dave was the father that would take his children out on the boat even though he did not know how to swim. Dave loved to go to Hawaii, which he did at least twice a year. Dave was well known in West Seattle and

he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, "DJ" and mother and father. Dave is survived by his sons, Jim and Brad, daughter in law Rose, brother Jerry, sister Christine and his companion and best friend Laurie Bryant. Also survived by four Grandchildren Shawna, Hannah, Daniel, and Kayli. At the families request, remembrances should be forwarded to Pencil Me In For Kids 5619 California Avenue SW, Seattle, Washington 98136. A gathering to celebrate Dave's life will be held at West Seattle Eagles Hall 4426 California Avenue SW, Seattle, Washington 98116, Saturday May 6, 2006 12:00-3:00pm
