Mayor Greg Nickels will next week join the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce to honor the many contributions of Terry Williams and Dawn Leverett with its community service awards.
The awards presentation will take place on Thursday, May 18th, from at 7:30 a.m. at Salty's
"Dawn Leverett has stepped up to the plate for the Chamber and helped orchestrate our annual fundraiser for the last three years; is tireless in her promotion of the Chamber and its many activities and responsibilities," the chamber said. "She has participated on the board of directors since 2004. Dawn supports a variety of local charities and remains committed to the economic vitality of West Seattle."
Of Williams, the chamber said, "Terry Williams is being honored for the tremendous volunteer effort demonstrated over the years and across the West Seattle Peninsula. Terry's leadership shows up in many ways: his involvement with Greater Harbor 2000, past President of the Chamber of Commerce, Chair of 'Three Projects One Community' business fundraising committee, former trustee and architect for ArtsWest; president of the Southwest District Council and more. He sets a standard for what it means to not only be involved in his community, but to devote great thought and care into its stewardship."
