Regarding the issue of an ethics committee to provide oversight of our elected officials:

Any ethics committee comprised of Burien residents will be partisan, or at least influenced by politics.

Instead, how about an "Ethics Committee Exchange Agreement" with the City Council of a nearby city. Each Council uses the other Council as its Ethics Committee.

Then people who understand Council ethics would be conducting the review, and it is less likely that politics would taint the result.
