It should be quieter and less dangerous in SeaTac and Des Moines this Fourth of July.
This will be the first Independence Day that a complete ban on fireworks goes into effect in the two cities. The ban includes "safe and safe" fireworks.
"The police and fire departments will be out enforcing the ban," SeaTac Fire Chief Bob Myer emphasized.
The two cities join Burien and Tukwila in banning the discharging of all fireworks, except at licensed shows.
In Normandy Park, setting off fireworks is legal only from June 28 to July 5.
Fireworks use in unincorporated North Highline is limited to July 4 from 9 a.m. to midnight.
North Highline Fire Marshall Scott LaVielle reminds residents that only "Class C" or common fireworks are legal in unincorporated King County on Independence Day.
