Tyrone Curry, a Highline School District employee for 30 years who works four jobs, now can add "Lottery Millionaire" to his resume.
The 55-year-old Evergreen High School custodian is Washington's latest millionaire -winning $3.4 million with a Quinto ticket in the June 17 drawing.
Tyrone's wife, Michele, was the first to discover the win.
The following Monday morning, Michele stopped in the Zip Mart where the ticket was purchased, and the clerk told her to check it.
"She said, 'I think you may have won the Lottery. You should check your ticket because we sold a winning Quinto ticket and it's worth $3 million!" Michele said later.
She went home, found the ticket, and returned to the store to have the clerk check the drawing. "She and I both knew it was a winner. But I was so excited I couldn't even tell you how much it was."
Michele immediately called her husband at work and told him. Tyrone was empting garbage at the time and dropped what was in his hand.
"I've got to go home right now," he said he yelled to co-workers. "I think I just won the Lottery."
Tyrone drove to the store to meet his wife, where a Lottery sales representative who congratulated them on the win met the couple.
Zip Mart, at 10645 16th Avenue in Seattle, coincidentally sold a $10 million winning Lotto ticket in November 1996. Ironically, Michele knew the previous Lotto winner from a decade ago when the two lived in the same Seattle neighborhood.
The store will receive a $34,000 retail selling bonus for selling the winning ticket.
In addition to working at the school district, Tyrone also works as a seating host at Safeco Field, an usher at Key Arena, and holds a fourth part-time job.
Will he quit work?
Tyrone said he enjoys the jobs and can't imagine not working.
"I'm just Joe Citizen," he said with a laugh.
What will Tyrone and Michele do with their lottery prize?
The couple says they'll pay off debts, remodel their home and take a family trip to Silverwood theme park in north Idaho this summer.
