At 12:42 a.m., Des Moines police responded to a call in the 21600 block of 31st Ave. S.
The 19-year-old daughter, who made the 9-1-1 call, was outside the apartment and the knife was found outside the apartment. The 46-year-old mother was hiding between two cars in the parking lot.
The daughter was stabbed three times in the chest, right shoulder blade and on the wrist with a knife that was 13-inches long. She told officers it wasn't the first time her mother had threatened her with a knife, but didn't think she would ever stab her.
The mother, who denies the stabbing, claims her daughter is troubled and makes up stories to get people into trouble.
She claims her daughter stabbed herself.
The daughter was treated at Harborview Medical Center but after emergency treatment left against medical advice.

The mother was booked in the King County Jail on a charge of first-degree assault.
