Jacob Eddy pitched a complete game and West Seattle batters supported him with 19 hits on Sunday, July 2, to bring a banner to the West Seattle Little League.
Scoring in four of the six innings, the West Seattle 10-11 age Little League baseball All-Stars demolished Pac West, 14-4, to complete a rise from the dangerous losers bracket of the tournament to the Washington District 7 championship at the Pac West Ball Fields.
West Seattle will represent District 7 at the Shoreline state tournament.
Leading 2-0 after two innings, West Seattle erupted for seven runs in the third inning on the strength of Anthony Lampling's three-run homer before scoring four runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Pac West managed one run in the third, two in the fourth, and a final tally in the fifth.
Eddy blasted three hits for West Seattle while Marcus Dolan managed two hits for Pac West.
Pac West knocked off South Highline American before defeating Southwest 15-2. Next Pac West shut out West Seattle, 4-0, to reach the championship.
Devon Proszek allowed two hits over the first three innings while Marcus Dolan pitched a one-hitter in the final three innings.
West Seattle emerged from the losers bracket to qualify for championship round action before knocking off the winners bracket finalist, Pac West, 11-5, on Saturday.
On their home field on Sunday, the Pac West All-Stars controlled the game completely to lead 4-0 after five innings. Faced with elimination in its last at bat, the visiting West Seattle All-Star team rallied to notch a 4-4 tie as the teams headed to the extra-inning seventh.
Triggered by Thomas Snow's two-run homer, West Seattle fired off a seven-run salvo. Pac West struck back for one run before West Seattle closed out the proceedings.
"That was a terrific comeback," said West Seattle manager and former KIRO-TV sports anchor Gary Spinnell. "It showed tremendous heart from all. I've been doing this for three or four years, and I love it. Rally from a 4-0 deficit. If that doesn't do it for you, what would ?"

In the fourth inning, RBI singles by Lakey and Nate Sobotta magnified the West Seattle margin to 5-0.
Unable to advance a runner past first base for five innings, the South Highline athlete lit some fireworks in the rapidly warming temperatures in bright sunlight against a quickly tiring Lakey in the top of the sixth inning - the last regulation inning.
Resembling rapid lightning bolts, the South Highline National All-Stars zapped their way back. Micha Lorenz ignited the long, dormant SHN offense by lining a lead off single to left field. Robbie Proveson followed with a one-baser of his own before Fray singled to load the bases.
Three runs scored off Tanner Seramur's triple to right field and West Seattle clung to a 5-3 lead. SHN put WS deeper into the pressure cooker when Graham plated Seramur on a short, pop fly out to center field against relief pitcher Alex Chase to narrow the West Seattle advantage to 5-4. A fielder's choice ground out to first base sent the first base runner to second with two out, but Chase struck out the next batter to record the save.
"We just didn't start hitting soon enough," declared National manager McLaughlin. "That's their best pitcher (Lakey)."
