Highline 19, Mt. Rainier 13
Anthony Watkins rumbled for a 10-yard touchdown and a 35-yard run for the Highline Pirates on Friday and J.J. Campos Jr. made the first kick but the second PAT attempt was missed.
Craig Robinson of Mount Rainier then scored on runs of 2 and 1 yards with a pass for two failing after the first and a successful Cesar Luna kick following the second.
Watkins got the last word in to win it for Highline. He scored on a 58-yard run and a failed pass left the final score at 19-13.
Kennedy 35, Hazen 0
Nate Williams scored on a 78-yard run and a 5-yard run to get the Lancers started and Daniel Martiniello kicked his first two of five extra points in five attempts.
Jesse Roe caught a 44-yard pass for a touchdown from Bobby Gentry and ran for a 3-yard touchdown. Williams ran for a 1-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Evergreen 67, Highline 26
Evergreen started off its big-scoring evening Saturday, Sept 16 with Randal Henderson scoring on a 1-yard run and Charles Webster catching a 2-yard pass from Luther Leonard. Leonard and Webster then connected on a two-point conversion.
Leonard then threw a 33-yard touchdown strike to Vincente Cordova and Peter Santie kicked his first of five successful conversions.
Anthony Watkins of Highline then scored on runs of 39 and four yards before Webster caught a 23-yard pass from Leonard for the Wolverines. Kyle Tunney of Evergreen followed with a 38-yard touchdown run. Anthony Watkins of Highline returned the ensuing kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown, but Evergreen's Tobias Togi then struck on a 6-yard and a 1-yard run.
Nuve Kongaika of the Wolverines ran for a 64-yard run and teammate Kyle Tunney tallied a 13-yard touchdown. Highline came right back with another 80-yard touchdown return but it was not enough to catch Evergreen.
Kennedy 56, Lindbergh 7
Nate Williams found the end zone for four touchdowns in the Friday, Sept. 15, action, with a 62-yard run, a 43-yard pass from Bobby Gentry and two 1-yard touchdown runs. Jesse Roe of JFK scored on a 3-yard run, Nolan Washington on a 34-yard interception return and Everette Thompson on a 31-yard connection from Gentry. Nunez scored in the third quarter on a 6-yard run. Jacob Prato kicked seven conversions in a row and Daniel Martiniello kicked the final PAT.
Cross country
Mt. Rainier-Tyee
Hazen defeated Mount Rainier in boys action Thursday, 23-36, and Hazen topped Tyee, 15-50. The Rams lost to Lindbergh, 15-39, and Lindbergh defeated Tyee, 15-50.
Ryan Prentice of Mount Rainier won individually in 17:01.62.
In girls action, Mount Rainier defeated Lindbergh, 27-28, and Hazen defeated the Rams, 25-30. Tyee has no team and forfeited to Hazen and Lindbergh.
Katie Dolan of Mount Rainier was the top local finisher, taking fourth in 23:28 ahead of teammate Alison Vrbanac (23:47).
Kennedy-Evg.-Highline
The Highline girls won, 21-35, over JFK Thursday but lost to Renton, 19-44. Kennedy and Renton won by forfeit over Evergreen.
Julia Miller of the Pirates took second in 21:21.
Highline topped Kennedy, 21-36, on the boys side but lost to Renton, 18-40. Kennedy and Renton defeated Evergreen by forfeit.
Joshua Simons of Highline took fifth place in 17:34 ahead of teammate Eric DeSilva (17:37).

Cory Peterson scored on an assist from Nick Stubberfield and Trevor Barronian Thursday and Stubberfield scored the match-tying goal in the 67th minute on a Peterson assist.
Girls soccer
Kennedy 9, Evergreen 0
Jakie Thomas of Kennedy scored the only needed goal in the fourth minute on an assist from Amanda Arntz in the fourth minute. It was all Lancers from there in the Thursday afternoon battle at the Starfire complex in Tukwila.

The Totems were blanked by the Eagles Thursday.

Brianna Lammar earned the shutout for the Pirates Thursday and Kayci Donatelli scored the lone goal in the 67th minute on a Maddie Guidos assist.
Mt. R. 5, Renton 0
Bertucio and Martinez split Thursday's shutout for the Rams. Harris scored the first goal on a Martinez assist and the Rams picked up an own goal to make it 2-0 by halftime and send the team on the way to victory.
Highline 15, Renton 0
Last Monday, Sept. 18, the Pirates enjoyed a split shutout by Brianna Lamarr and Stephanie Brianna Hoag and a big scoring binge.
Kayci Donatelli scored on a Joei Howell assist to get things started and Donatelli then assisted Siri Berg. Hoag knocked in a double assist from Alannah Anderson and Whitney Wagner.
Jane Connelly then assisted Donatelli on a goal and Rachel Jones assisted Howell. Brittany Stockley was then assisted by Wagner and Donatelli was assisted by Norma Lomeli. Donatelli assisted Connelly after that and Donatelli also assisted Maddie Guidos. Wagner scored on a Deanna Knox assist and Kaitlyn Heinsohn on a Donatelli assist.
Wagner put in a Heinsohn assist after that and Heinsohn scored on a Matthew Fay assist. Anderson then struck on a Lemarr assist and Lemarr on a Connelly assist.

Ashley Engel shared last Monday's shutout with Stefani Vert and Marissa Monson.
Amanda Arntz scored the opening goal on a Maggie Whaley assist before Whaley turned around to score on an Arntz assist. Riley Boblenz was assisted by Whaley and then Katy Dunphy assisted Arntz. Shey Thomasson knocked in a Tracy Hughes assist and Jasmine Lambert struck unassisted. Dunphy was assisted by Jackie Thomas to open the second half and Jackie Scott assisted Brittany Gannaw. Gannaw then assisted Engel.

Jillian Schneeman split Monday's shutout with Sarrah Ferrin and Brough.
Carly Boyden was assisted by Becky Harris on the first goal and Harris scored unassisted before Boyden was assisted by Sam Brown. Harris then struck unassisted again and Carol Wiwel knocked in a Jarin Storrs assist. Kelsy Cole was assisted by Harris after that and Harris scored on a Brown assist. Ashley Messner was then assisted by Storrs and Alex Hunter scored unassisted. Schneeman assisted Shelby Blair on the final goal.

The Lancers won the opening 200 medley relay in 2:28.46 Thursday and Sara Tang took the 200 freestyle in 2:26.39. Kimberly Miller won the 200 individual medley in 2:45.18 and Casey Hoffman took the 50 free in 27.75. Danielle Roush of JFK scored 177.4 points to win diving and Bridget Grotz took the 100 butterfly and Kristi Kaarrekoski won the 100 free in 1:08.43.
Tang took the 500 free in 6:31.21 and JFK won the 200 free relay in 2:06.61. Tyee's Carrie Flooden won the 100 backstroke in 1:26.78 and Kennedy's Hoffman took the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.98. The Lancers won the 400 free relay in 5:04.34.

Mount Rainier started off by taking the the 200 medley relay in 2:16.16 Thursday and Annie Tomson took 200 free in 2:15.00. Liz Althauser won the 200 individual medley in 2:27.09.
Gillian Spencer won the 50 free in 30.46 and Taylor Hall scored 116.65 points to win diving. Andrea Aronson won the 100 free in 1:02.62 and Maria Rice won the 500 free in 5:58.87. The Rams won the 200 free relay in 2:01.97 and Megan Wilson won the 100 back in 1:07.56. Hannah Pochepan won the 100 breast in 1:11.89 and the Rams also won the 400 free relay in 4:28.13.
Highline 108, Renton 59
Highline won the 200 medley relay in 2:04.39 Thursday and had Beth Cate take the 200 IM in 2:14.93. Brenda Foster won the 50 free in 27.18 and Mitchell scored 132.8 points to take diving. Cate captured first in the 500 free in 5:19.05 and Highline won the 200 free relay in 1:55.53. Stegin won the 100 breast in 1:21.34 and Highline took the 400 free relay in 4:37.32.

The Eagles posted a 25-4, 25-16, 25-15 win over Tyee Thursday.
Mt. Rainier 3, Renton 0
The Rams scored a 25-15, 25-22, 25-10 victory Thursday. Sara Kochel had 15 assists and Chelsea Miller six kills. Lorrin Rondeau had eight aces and Melissa Yapp three aces.
Kennedy 3, Highline 1
JFK's Rachel Moran had 30 assists and five aces in the Tuesday, Sept. 19 action. Stephanie Slatt had nine kills, four digs and three blocks and Ashley Eneliko nine kills and five aces.
For Highline, Catie Vigen scored seven kills, five digs and four aces. Julia Vigen had 10 assists.
The scoring ran in favor of Kennedy, 25-11, 25-15, 21-25, 25-12.

Mount Rainier won last Tuesday's match, 13-25, 25-14, 25-18 and 25-21.
Chelsey Miller had 13 kills and Sara Kochel 12 digs and 22 assists.
