West Seattle High School Principal Susan Derse has been placed on temporary medical leave, but the school district headquarter would not elaborate.

Judy Peterson joins West Seattle High as interim principal. Peterson was formerly principal of The Center School and Nathan Hale High School. Prior to that, she served at Highline High School in Issaquah.
