Power thieves busted by apartment manager

1. The managers of the Campus Grove Apartments called 911 to report that the tenants in unit 61-3 had unlawfully entered the neighboring apartment to steal electricity from the vacant unit. The Campus Grove Apartments are located at 1300 Southwest Campus Drive. The suspects broke into the neighboring unit 61-2 and plugged in an extension cord. They were illegally consuming the power because their own electricity had been shut off since September 28.
Phone thieves make off with blackberry
2. Representatives from the T-Mobile store at 34919 Enchanted Parkway South contacted Federal Way police to report that two unknown males walked into the store and grabbed a display phone. The pair walked out of the store with it without attempting to pay for it. The phone was a blackberry model and carried a high value. The incident may have been caught on tape, the employees told the Federal Way police, but they did not know what the protocol was for obtaining the information captured from the camera since the store had just opened. The owner of the store just wanted the incident documented for loss recovery purposes.
Victim's vehicle becomes a target at Target
3. A woman came into the Federal Way police station to report that an unknown person broke into her vehicle sometime in mid September while she left the vehicle parked for two hours at the Target store on 2201 South Commons. The victim returned to her 2003 Ford and noticed the driver's side door lock punched and a few items-valued at no more than $40-stolen from inside the vehicle.
Student attacked by another over possible gossip
4. A student, who lives on the 28700 block of 14th Avenue South, contacted Federal Way police to report that another student with whom she attends school approached her on the street near her residence and accused her of saying bad things about her parents. The victim told the suspect that she did not gossip about her family, but the suspect punched and slapped the victim anyway. The suspect hit her several times, causing minor abrasions and redness to her arms and chest. The victim refused medical treatment, but did request documentation of the incident.
Verbal domestic dispute involves plenty of broken dishware
5. Federal Way officers arrived at the scene of domestic dispute taking place at a residence located on the 32900 block of 22nd Avenue Southwest. The parties were a husband and wife, according to the report. The husband was angry because his wife was talking on the telephone. The wife got mad at her husbands anger, and smashed a little plate on the floor in the kitchen. The husband, who was eating at the time, slammed his fist down on the table and accidentally broke the ceramic bowl he was eating out of. The husband sustained a laceration to his hand, and officers called in for aid at the scene.
Deceased person found; family not surprised by death
6. Federal Way police responded to a call of fire assist, which had been changed to a DOA prior to their arrival, at a home on the 500 block of south 310th Place. Upon arriving at the residence, officers made contact with the chief paramedic, who stated that the victim had died after the paramedics attempted CPR on him. The other people at the scene, including the man's wife, stated that the death was expected. The man had a history of lung cancer, COPD, heart disease and other medical problems. Officers called the Medical Examiner and took pictures of the scene. Foul play is not suspected in this incident.
Domestic dispute leads woman to trash partner's stuff
Officers arrived at the scene of a physical domestic dispute called in from an apartment complex at 27912 Pacific Highway South. Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the suspect, who stated that after a physical argument about her leaving the home, she "trashed" all of her partner's belongings. She told officers that she asked the victim to call police. The victim concurs with this story. Over $1500 in damage was done in the home home, some of it with a knife. Both parties denied any physical assault. Officers snapped a few photos of the scene. They also arrested the suspect, but later released them from the station and gave them a voucher for a hotel.
"I was avoiding a cat," drunk driver tells officers
On October 1, around 4 a.m., Federal Way traffic officers pulled over a 2000 Oldsmobile after it collided with the sidewalk around 100 South 333rd Street. Officers contacted a female driver and a male passenger. The female told police that she swerved to avoid a cat and collided into the sidewalk of South 333rd Street. Officer didn't buy her story though, and conducted a sobriety test on the driver. They placed her under arrest for DUI, and she was later released from the station to her mother.
Military member has equipment stolen from vehicle
The driver of a white 2005 Chrysler contacted Federal Way officers to report that an unknown person or persons had broken into his vehicle while parked outside his residence on the 1400 block of South 320th Street. The thieves lifted 146 CDs, valued at $1,000 as well as a fully array of military equipment with a value of more than $4,000. There are no suspects or evidence, and Federal Way police have decided to close the case pending any new leads.
