Hole-in-wall gang
Tue, 11/07/2006
Well, maybe it's no gang, but some unscrupulous person noticed a rotting wall in a duplex undergoing remodeling. They enlarged that portion of the crumbling structure, climbed through the hole, and stole $300 worth of plumbing supplies and hand tools and $75 worth of ceramic tile.
Just after midnight early Saturday, two men were kicked out of an Alaska Junction tavern. For unknown reasons, they ran across the street, confronted a stranger in front of another restaurant and hit him in the head with a bottle. The victim fell to the ground and was kicked by the suspects. One suspect swung a tire iron and the second claimed to have a gun. Officers arrived, confronted, and disarmed the men with the help of witnesses who identified the pair. Both men, one aged 25 and the other aged 46, were booked into King County Jail for investigating of assault, harassment, and obstruction.
A residence on 21st SW received a unique milk delivery Saturday evening-right through the front window. As the window shattered, eight white males in their late teens and early twenties scattered. They wore blue and black sweats and blue and white t-shirts.
A 41-year-old woman was taken to Harborview for a mental evaluation after she had an apparent psychotic episode and marched down SW Holly St. pointing a rifle in random directions. No one was harmed in the incident. The woman had recently been released from a psychiatric hospital.
Real tough: Sunday afternoon in a High Point alley, a thin black female with short curly hair and blue jeans proved her might by shoving an 81-year-old woman to the ground and stealing her purse which contained $200 in grocery money.
Another tanning salon has been robbed by an armed man. Instead of a claw hammer, this man displayed a gun. The suspect is a white male in his 40s. Thin, with brown hair and possibly a mustache. He wore a blue denim jacket with brown sleeves.
Two men were booked into King Count Jail for investigation of assault and harassment Saturday after they chased after and physically confronted three men they suspected of stealing. They yelled at the victims, frisked them and tried to reach into their pockets. The victims were able to run away but were confronted again near California and Charlestown, where one of the suspects-carrying a baseball bat-chased the victims into a restaurant and shoved one up against a wall. The three escaped again and, while taking alleyways (to try to hide from the suspects), they recognized the suspect's vehicle parked behind a house and called 911. One of the suspects will also be charged for carrying a pair of brass knuckles, which are considered and unlawful weapon.
In separate incidents, two local men were found dead after they failed to show up for work last week. One, a 58-year-old laborer, had complained of stomach pains. He apparently died from internal bleeding. The other, a 25-year-old with no known health problems, was found dead in bed. The medical examiner has not released any information on the second victim.
An officer spotted a car driving without headlights early Sunday in the 7500 block of 16th SW. She had the car pull over (it was occupied by two female teens), but as she approached the vehicle to talk to the driver, the engine roared and the car took off at high speed toward South Seattle Community College. (At one point the car was exceeding 90 MPH.) A moment later, the two officers found the abandoned car crashed into a guardrail at SW Dawson. One girl, a 16-year-old Wenatchee resident, was booked into the Youth Service Center for investigation of auto theft and for a $1,000 King County warrant. The other female remains at large. The car turned out to have been stolen in Tukwila.
While visiting with his children (and while his estranged wife wasn't looking), a man stole her car keys and car. The woman has now idea where he is staying or where he might be headed.
