Domestic assault leads to arrest of abuser

1. Federal Way officers arrived at the scene of a reported domestic assault that took place at a residence on the 32300 block of 26th Place Southwest. The couple, the report states, have been in a relationship for one year. On the evening of November 6, around 12:15 a.m., the victim contacted the police to report that her partner had attacked her. He is allegedly visiting from West Virginia. The two engaged in an altercation that event that resulted in scratches to the victim. Officers reported that she complained from minor pain and injuries. Federal Way police arrested the abuser and booked him the King County-Seattle jail.

2. A man, who lives on the 1400 block of Southwest 296th Street, came into the Federal Way police station to report that his boathouse was broken into sometime between October 27 and November 5. The man told police that he went down to the boathouse along his beachfront property and found the large sliding door popped off and a kayak stolen from inside the building. The kayak is a red Alpine Innovation Tantrum model. He told police that access to the building would have been from walking along the beach. There are no witnesses or suspect information, and officers have closed the case pending new leads.

3. The resident of a home on the 2900 block of Southwest 332nd Place came into the Federal Way police station to report that an unknown person or persons stole several tools from the back of his truck. The vehicle, the man said, was parked in the driveway of his home when the incident occurred. The man told police that he noticed a vehicle driving away from his truck around 2:30 a.m. on the morning of November 3. There was no mentioned description of the vehicle and the man told police that he did not call 911 at that time. The man went outside and found the tailgate of his green 1977 Chevrolet down and the toolbox in the back of the bed wide open. The man said there was no damage to report, but that several tools were missing from the vehicle. These included a Craftsman cordless drill, a Carcher pressure washer, and a Craftsman Sawzall. The total valued of the stolen items is approximately $500. Officers have no suspect information and have closed the case pending new leads.
Man loses wallet while at soccer practice
4. A man came into the Federal Way police station to report that his wallet was stolen. He reported that he placed the wallet in a drawstring bag that he set along the sidelines while practicing at the soccer fields at 2410 South 312th Street between 4 and 6 p.m. November 2. When he gathered up his belongings after practice, he found his wallet stolen from inside the bag. The man told police he has not cancelled his debit card as of yet, but was on his way to do that after making the report. He did not indicate that his PIN was in his wallet anywhere. There is no suspect information and officers have closed the case pending new leads.
Officers located shoplifting suspect
5. Federal Way police arrived at the Target store at 2201 South Commons November 6 to follow up on a shoplifting call at that business. The police searched the immediate area and located a male suspect matching the description nearby. The male was detained and later identified as the person who stole several CDs from the Target store. The suspect was placed into custody and later released from the station after processing. The event took place shortly before 4 p.m.
Welfare check turns up only false report
6. Federal Way officers conducted a welfare check at a residence on the 28900 block of 28th Place South. An anonymous personal contacted police and reported that the mother in the house, who has three young children, was using drugs and had animal feces in the house. Federal Way police made contact with the mother and the three children, ages two months, eight months and eight years. The anonymous callers complaint was unfounded, officers determined. The children were clothed and clean, and there was no report of animal feces. The house was stocked with ample amounts of food and household necessities. There were also no signs of drug use. The house was messy and cluttered, however, and in need of cleaning, they reported.
