Ever watched "It's a Wonderful Life" or one of those other holiday movie classics and wondered how we can recapture that Capraesque Christmas spirit?
A couple of talented and entertaining musicians have found a way, and (this) Sunday afternoon they will lead us all through Admiral Sings Christmas. I attended last year's inaugural event and it was a hoot. Everybody had a great time and came out a bit hoarse after singing all the traditional carols - from "Silent Night" to "Rudolph" and "Deck the Halls."
Keith Terhune guided us merrily through the sing-along, playing the grand piano and pipe organ and I vividly recall Professor Hokum W. Jeebs playing his saw and his rendition of Christmas on the Tuba.
It lasts only an hour or so, costs next to nothing (a donation is welcome) and fills your tank with genuine Christmas spirit.
It would be great to see everyone there, 4 o'clock Sunday (doors open at 3:30 p.m.) at Admiral Church (California Avenue and Hill Street). C'mon, let's paint the town red and green.
