Please stop discussing transportation issues. You have already proved your lack of understanding regarding engineering, construction, planning, and cost issues, when your paper supported the monorail early on.
That program was pure Joel Horn snake oil from the beginning; you and most of your staff were right in line for the next cup of Kool-Aid.
Now you are attempting to educate the people on your version of viaduct replacement. First and foremost, this is not a tunnel. Repeat, this is not a tunnel. It's a cut-and-cover, similar to what was done on Mercer Island.
It's rarely mentioned we have already done this type of project locally.
Your option is myopic. It's a low-budget short-term fix. A Band-Aid if you will. If the people choose another viaduct, in five to 10 years they will regret their decision.
With your history, you should really steer clear of transportation issues.
Unless of course you are you interested in purchasing some rare, exquisite oil, which will cure all your ills?
