One has to use a taxicab sometimes, as there's no one to drive someone safely somewhere. I wish there could be more taxicabs available in West Seattle. I have wondered about the lack of taxicabs in West Seattle, if it is something to do with an unsolved tragic robbery crime of a taxicab driver, a husband/father with children, in West Seattle in December 1996.
I hope there can be more peacefulness to taxicab drivers, as they provide a service in every community. Taxicab drivers work long hours, with little or no appreciation from anyone.
Taxicabs have GPS (Global Positioning System) that tracks a cab's location and even hidden cameras that take pictures in the taxicabs. In Canada, there is something called Taxicab Driver Appreciation Day (hosted through the University of Manitoba). I hope, someday soon, there will be Taxicab Driver Appreciation Day in Seattle, so they will know someone cares.
