Victim has car and laptop stolen from Red Robin parking lot

1. The victim of a car theft contacted Federal Way police to report that his vehicle had been stolen while parked outside the Red Robin restaurant at 2233 South 320th Street. The incident took place sometime around 12:15 a.m. on January 15. The victim's report states that he parked his blue 1994 Jeep outside the Red Robin and locked it, giving no one permission to enter or drive it. Upon returning to the vehicle, the victim discovered that an unknown person or persons had taken it. The man also reported that the had left his $1,200 Toshiba laptop and a military knapsack inside. There is no suspect information, leads or witnesses, and officers have closed the case pending new leads.
Officers handle domestic dispute over child custody
2. Federal Way police responded to a domestic disturbance call originating from a home on the 2900 block of Southwest 333rd Street. The call came in around 1:20 p.m. on January 15. Upon arrival, officers interview the girlfriend, who stated that she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument about who had custody of their child. Officers discovered that the couple had no parenting plan pertaining to the child. They found no signs that a physical assault had taken place, and the girlfriend confirmed that she had not been abused. Federal Way police gave her a domestic violence pamphlet and advised her of other information not mentioned in the police report. The boyfriend was not at the scene when officers arrived.
Traffic stop yields possible drug paraphernalia
3. Around 3:20 p.m. on January 15, Federal Way police stopped the driver of a white 2000 Lincoln near the intersection at 34200 1st Way South. A records check of the driver revealed that his driving status is suspended in the third degree. The driver was arrested and advised his constitutional rights. The man said he understood those rights. The police conducted a search of the vehicle and his person. They discovered one item of interest in his right front pants pocket. The man said that the items were used to smoke Oxy Cotin. He was cited for possessing paraphernalia and released from the scene and vehicle was released to his mother.
Apartment cleaner discovers a stash of guns, drug paraphernalia
4. Federal Way police reported that an unnamed person was cleaning an apartment unit at a complex at 33010 17th Place South when they discovered a marijuana pipe. The item was submitted by the Federal Way police for destruction. Also inside the apartment, the cleaner found a .22 caliber starter pistol and a .22 caliber Derringer. Both firearms were submitted into evidence for safekeeping. The report did not release the name of the gun owner. The discovery took place on January 15 around 1:08 p.m.
Man arrested for drug possession after police stop him for parking illegally in a handicapped spot
5. Around 2:40 p.m. on January 15, Federal Way police reported that they had stopped the driver of a vehicle for parking in a handicapped spot near 1900 South 314th Street. The police contacted the subject, later discovered to be Marcus T. Nelson, for sitting in a parked car in a properly marked handicapped stall without a handicap hanger or license plate. Nelson had two local warrants, which were confirmed by the Federal Way police. Nelson also had an outstanding OSA warrant. Upon searching the vehicle, Federal Way officers discovered drug baggies containing less than 40 grams of an illegal substance. The substance, the officers discovered, was marijuana. Federal Way officers cited Nelson for possession of an illegal substance and arrested him on the outstanding warrants. The vehicle was released to a friend.
Civil standby leads police to fugitive
6. On January 15, around 6:12 p.m., Federal Way police received a request for a civil standby. An unnamed person contacted Federal Way PD to ask for assistance in getting some personal items from the apartment of Michael K. Kettles-Lahti. The woman had recently moved out of Kettles-Lahti's apartment. Prior to the police arrival, officers determined that Kettles-Lahti had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of the King County Sherrif's Office. When the police arrived at the scene with the woman, Kettles-Lahti let them in. Officers confirmed the warrant and informed the suspect of it. Federal Way police detained Kettles-Lahti and the woman gathered her belongings and left the scene.
Man arrested for threats and tampering with fire alarm
7. Federal Way officers arrived at the scene of a disturbance in progress at a site on the 31600 block of 23rd Avenue South. Federal Way police interview the victim, Terrence G. Maconnell, who stated the suspect, Daniel J. McNamee had threatened him with a key. the suspect asked the victim if he wanted to die. After making the threat, the suspect ran off and pulled the fire alarm at the transit center. When officers confronted him, McNamee became disruptive. He slipped his handcuffs twice and resisted arrest. McNamee was finally arrested adn booked into the King County Justice Center in Fife after receiving medical treatment at the Auburn hospital. The event took place around 8:30 p.m. on January 3.
Domestic dispute turns up woman with outstanding warrants
8. Federal Way officers arrived at the scene of a reported domestic dispute called in by the neighbor. The event took place at an apartment complex at 120 South 339th Circle. Officers spoke with both the male and the female involved in the dispute, and both denied that any threats were made with a handgun and denied that any assault or crime had occurred. Officers could discover no obvious signs of injury or evidence of a crime. The owner of the gun, the male, said that he owned the gun for protection for his job at Denny's at Southcenter. He stated that he is not a convicted felon and doesn't have a CPL. The gun was checked through WASIC/NCIC and turned up no record. The female, however, no identified as Katie M. Hamner, had multiple warrants out of Kent and was arrested on those confirmed warrants. Officers arrested Hamner and transported her to the custody of the Kent Police Department.
Man arrested for giving false information in accident as well as other crimes
9. Federal Way police followed up on a call of a traffic accident that had taken place at 1100 Southwest 320th Street. Upon arrival, Federal Way officers made contact with the driver of a gray 2006 Toyota with Washington plates. The driver gave police a false identity. Federal Way police later determined the driver's real identity. They arrested him for obstructing justice and giving false information during a police investigation. There was also a minor in possession issued at the scene. The incident took place around 11 a.m. on January 14.
Son breaks in and steals vehicle, later crashing it
10. A woman, who lives on the 31200 block of 13th Avenue South, contacted Federal Way police to report that she woke and found her vehicle missing from her residence. The report came in around 5 p.m. on January 13. She also stated that her 14-year-old son was missing as well. She believes that he gained entry through the playroom window and took the vehicle keys. The police later discovered the vehicle in a parking lot at 28100 Redondo Way about 9 a.m. the next day. The vehicle sustained damage to the front left wheel as a result of hitting a curb.
