Diner denied, detained

The dining area of a Westwood fast food restaurant was closed, but a would-be patron simply walked around to the drive-through window, began pounding on it and demanding a bottle opener to open a beer. A driver waiting in line honked his car horn, and the suspect began yelling. He then walked to a nearby van, pulled out a handgun, waved it around, and pointed it at the drive-through clerk. The suspect then left eastbound on Barton Street in the van. Witnesses called in the license plate, and officers stopped the suspect in the 8400 block of 20th SW. They booked him into King County Jail for investigation of harassment. They also confiscated a loaded .38-caliber revolver.
While she was out of town, a woman allowed her son, who has a history of drug use, to stay at her home. Because he's currently unemployed, she gave him a credit card to use for groceries. When she left, the card had a zero balance. Several weeks later, upon her return, it had a $4,000 balance. (None of the purchases had been made at a grocery store.)
On S. Donovan, a citizen reported a suspicious car had been parked across the street for two hours with its engine running. A man who had been asleep in the driver's seat told officers he was waiting for someone. Interestingly, it turns out that both King County and the Tukwila Police Department had been waiting for him: he was wanted on $10,000 worth of warrants and was booked into King County Jail.
In a similar incident, officers found a woman sleeping in a car (with the engine running) in the 4500 block of SW Admiral Way. She was wanted on a $500 warrant and was booked into King County Jail. She faces additional charges, since the arresting officers found numerous shaved keys (often used in auto theft), a Washington ID card that did not belong to her, two large fixed-blade knives, and two full-face ski masks.
Around 7 p.m. on Friday, three black females in their 20s approached a man who was sitting in his car at a Delridge convenience store. One carried a large pipe; another implied she had a gun. They opened his car door, took a swing at him with the pipe, and stole the car.
A man was attacked by two strangers in the All-Star Fitness parking lot around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. After punching and kicking him, they stole his backpack and drove off in a blue Suburban.
A local man in his late 50s was taken to Harborview for a mental evaluation after he spent 45 minutes yelling at Alki Beach early Thursday morning. He appeared to have been in the water at one point, was missing a shoe, and was shaking from the cold temperature.
A cameraman for KING-TV set up a tripod in preparation for a story to be done in the Westwood area. When he left for a moment to get additional equipment, someone stole the tripod, which is worth $3,000.
