Each week we gather the police report from a printed dispatch log available to the public at the FWPD Headquarters. In order to maintain accuracy in the facts presented herein, we make every effort to reprint the narratives exactly as they are presented, without adjustments in grammar or style.
Traffic stop and records check turns up fugitive
1. Federal Way officers stopped the driver of a white 1995 Chevrolet near the intersection of 27900 Pacific Highway South. The traffic stop took place after 1:30 a.m. on January 10. When officers ran the plates through the system, the records indicated that a male subject was associated with the vehicle, and that the male had an outstanding Federal Way warrant for driving with a suspended license in the third degree. The driver matched the physical description given to the officers from dispatch. The vehicle did not stop in Federal Way, however, and proceeded to the Appian Way Apartment complex in Kent. The police report does not indicate whether or not the driver was apprehended by Federal Way officers.
Transient caught for trespassing and theft
2. Federal Way officers followed up on a 911 call that there was a theft in progress at 2132 South 320th Street, in which the suspect was already GOA. The police conducted an area check at the transient center, which appeared to be the general direction the suspect was headed when he left the scene. After an area check, the suspect was located and a show-up conducted. The suspect was subsequently arrested for theft in the third degree. A records check also indicated that the suspect had been trespassed from the Denny's restaurant in Federal Way. The suspect was cited for the offenses and released.
Suspect arrested, but Seattle PD refuses to pick him up due to bad weather
3. Officers observed a suspect, Antonio L. Kidd, walking down the street around 4 a.m. on January 10. The officers made contact with Kidd near the 1600 block of South 304th Street. The police then made a non-custodial social contact. During the contact, Kidd was advised that the was not detained and free to leave. Kidd willingly provided his name and date of birth and was released without incident. On the scene, officers decided to conduct a warrant search using Kidd's name and date of birth. The warrant research returned information that Kidd had an outstanding warrant for DUI out of Seattle. The warrant was confirmed and Kidd was placed into custody. Seattle PD was contacted, but they refused to arrange a warrant pickup because of the inclement weather. Kidd was then released.
Assault by unknown attacker takes place along Pacific Highway
4. Federal Way police took a police report from an unnamed victim of an assault. The incident took place on January 10 around 11:55 p.m. The victim told officers that he was assaulted by an unknown male with a knife in the vicinity of 28722 Pacific Highway South. According to the report, the unknown suspect approached him with the weapon and the victim felt he was in imminent danger. The victim also told police that he did not know the suspect. There is no suspect information, nor are there any witnesses. Federal Way officers have closed the case pending new leads.
Woman abducted and raped in Federal Way
5. A woman contacted Federal Way police to report that she had been abducted and raped. The incident took place around 8:45 a.m. on January 11. The police report states that the victim was abducted from Lacey and driven to an apartment in Federal Way. No address associated with the Federal Way apartment was listed in the report. The victim told police that she was held in the apartment for several hours until she escaped and fled in her vehicle, a gray 2002 Kia. There is no suspect information listed in the police report, nor is there any other information pertaining to the case.
Officers bust party, cite host with distributing booze and smokes to minors
6. Federal Way police busted up a party in progress in an apartment located on the 28600 Military Road South. Officers arrived at the scene of the disturbance and spoke with all of the parties involved. An investigation of the area revealed that the suspect had provided a minor with alcohol and tobacco. The suspect was issued a citation for the offense, and promised officers that he would appear in court. The suspect was then released without incident. The event took place around 6:25 a.m. on the morning of January 11.
Officers intervene in domestic abuse situation
7. Federal Way police followed up on a 911 call that came in around 7:30 p.m. on January 12. The call indicated that a woman had been attacked by a male the victim only knows by his first name. The incident took place in an apartment complex at 28720 18th Avenue South. The report states that the suspect slapped the victim in the face. She told police that she felt no pain and that the man smacked her after she had smacked his hand away. The victim was unable to provide any additional information about the suspect. The police report indicated that officers were unable to locate the suspect, who had fled the scene before they arrived.
Craigslist sting of prostitutes disrupted
8. Federal Way officers participated in a planned sting of prostitutes that were luring in customers via Craigslist online classified ads. The unnamed suspect was arrested at the Extended Stay hotel in Federal Way around 12:26 a.m. on January 12. The suspect was using the hotel as her base of operations and she posted ads several times a day in search of customers for sexual encounters for money. No other information is listed in the report.
