In a new take on fraud, a woman called an elderly West Seattle resident, claimed the man's son was guilty of bank fraud and that $1,300 was due to the courts. She said that unless the money was handed over, the son would be taken to jail. She then asked the victim for a credit card number so that this fee could be paid. The man provided the information. He has been advised to not give his credit card numbers to anyone in the future, and to report any similar calls to the police.
