Seamount League
Mount Rainier took first place in the team action held at Hazen Saturday, Feb. 3. The Rams scored 373 points ahead of Kennedy (265.5), Highline (241.5), Hazen (138), Lindbergh (115), Renton (49) and Evergreen (36).
Highline won the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1 minute, 47.19 seconds and McClellan Lowry of Mount Rainier took the 200 freestyle in 1:50.93. JFK's Kevin Munsch won the 200 individual medley in 1:52.35.
Highline's Patrick Anderson and JFK's Paul Jovanovich tied for first in the 50 free in 23.08. Kevin Grayson of Highline scored 330.15 points to win diving and JFK's Jovanovich won the 100 butterfly in 56.51. John Ester of Highline won the 100 free in 51.24 and Mount Rainier's Lowry took the 500 free in 4:53.68. Highline took the 200 free relay in 1:36.59 and Kennedy's Kutz took the 100 backstroke in 56.77 and Munsch won the 100 breaststroke in 58.21. Kennedy also won the final 400 free relay in 3:20.57.
Boys wrestling
Seamount League
Mount Rainier scored 345.5 points to win the boys title at the Saturday, Feb. 3 meet held at Kennedy. JFK finished third with 221.5 points ahead of Highline's 205 and Evergreen was sixth with 119 and Tyee eighth with 63.
Parker Scarff of Kennedy won the 103-pound match by a 12-2 decision and Tyee's Jesus Torres won the 112 by a 14-5 decision. Travis Bull of Kennedy won by pin in 3:22 at 135 and Kevin Colbern won by pin in 2:37 at 140 for Mount Rainier.
David Lepeska of Mount Rainier won, 14-0, at 145 and teammate Patrick Flemming won by pin in 2:39 at 152. Ricky Dorward of the Rams won at 160 by a 16-7 decision. Cory Muma of Mount Rainier won, 8-3, at 171 and Highline's Justin Gibson won, 10-4, at 189. Marc Avery-Airhart pinned his 215-pound opponent in 5:36 and Evergreen's Senio Kelemete won by pin in 2:36 at 285.
Nisqually League
Foster finished fifth in the Saturday, Feb. 3 tournament with 72 points.
Murphy was pinned 53 seconds into the 215-pound match and Farris lost by pin 40 seconds into the 285.
Girls wrestling
West Central District
Highline won the team action in the championship meet held Saturday, Feb. 3 at Bonney Lake High School with 67 points ahead of Fife's 65.5. Evergreen scored 19.5 for seventh place and Mount Rainier scored nine for 13th place.
Melissa Pidde of Highline won by forfeit at 103 pounds and teammate Siri Berg won by pin in 3:33 at 145. Krista Childs of Highline won by forfeit at 285.
