But in his car, officers discovered a briefcase stolen from the employee area of a nearby restaurant. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
Just after midnight Wednesday, an officer patrolling near Alki saw a driver ignore a stop sign and race onto Alki Avenue at speeds nearing 60 mph. He had watery, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, as well as the strong smell of alcohol on his breath. Inside the car was a loaded Glock semiautomatic pistol. The driver was cited for DUI and for carrying a loaded pistol in a vehicle while intoxicated and without a concealed weapons permit.
