Southwest King County residents will have their say on a proposed roads and transit funding package during an open house at Highline Community College on March 20 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Regional Transportation Improvement District (RTID) and Sound Transit officials will give a presentation at 6 p.m.
The college is located at 2400 S. 240th St. in Des Moines.
Final public input will be gathered at the open house on the transportation and transit-funding package before it goes to voters in November.
People can also visit the transportation district and Sound Transit websites to comment: www.rtid.org and www.soundtransit.org.
King County Councilwoman Julia Patterson, a member of both the Sound Transit and transportation district boards, said, "Band-aids and quick fixes won't cut it anymore. We are one region and need one comprehensive plan for improvements.
"It's time to get moving on our transportation problems. We can't wait any longer."
The draft plan calls for dramatic new investments to make significant freeway, high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes and bridge improvements, build more park and ride lots, extend light rail and add express bus service.
