The Seattle Mariners once again have King County Metro Transit in their lineup for the 2007 season.
For $3 each way, fans can eliminate driving and parking hassles by boarding buses at suburban park-and-ride lots for trips to and from Safeco Field.
Southwest King County park-and-ride lots, which offer both premium and regular game-day service to Safeco Field, are in Tukwila at 13445 Interurban Ave. S. at 52nd Ave. S. (Route 355 for premium service); Des Moines (Route 370), Interstate 5 and Kent-Des Moines Road; Federal Way Transit Center (Route 1200), South 317th Street and 23rd Avenue South; and Federal Way/South 320th Street (Route 877), South 323rd Street at 25th Avenue South.
Premium park-and-ride service is available both pre- and post-game only for weekend Mariner games. Premium service for weekday games that start at or after 5 p.m. will be offered post-game only. There is no premium service for weekday games that start before 5 p.m.
New for the 2007 Mariners season, Metro operates a First Avenue South Shuttle during the times near and after the end of weekday games when the street is closed by Seattle police.
Riders pay the regular fare, then take the First Avenue Shuttle to South Spokane or Seneca streets where they can connect to regularly scheduled service that is rerouted.
The shuttle does not operate during or after weekday games that are scheduled to start prior to 5 p.m.
