He kept a daily journal tracking all his business and life adventures.

Entrepreneurial by nature, they then moved back to Seattle and started Seattle Investment Company and a small real estate office at Greenlake. Not only was he active in real estate and sand and gravel, he was also a mortgage and insurance broker.
Tom was an avid reader and started many small business projects from exploring geothermal power in Nevada to Alberg Cherry Orchards in Eastern Washington. One of his recent ventures was developing Stillwater Creek Vineyards on his property in Royal City, Wash. The family has enjoyed going to the Duvall Farm over the years. Tom was a member of the Swedish Club, Washington Athletic Club and the Blue Ridge Club for over 50 years. He served as treasurer for the Washington Democratic Party, was a member of the Geothermal Association, and was a founding member of United Savings and Loan.
