Domestic dispute stems from clash in Korean and American values

1. Federal Way police responded to a 911 call indicating there had been a domestic disturbance with possible violence at an apartment at 29225 Military Road South. Officers arrived at the scene and determined that the dispute was not violent in nature. One of the involved parties, the son, told Federal Way officers that the argument took place because of a clash between his mother's strong traditional values. Her beliefs, the report stated, were in direct conflict with his Americanized views. Both parties are of Korean decent according to the report. Officers did not determine any signs of physical injury and have classified the case as a verbal domestic dispute only.
Car thieves caught while nabbing Honda
2. Federal Way police intercepted two criminals who were reportedly in the process of stealing a vehicle. The two unnamed suspects were spotted by Federal Way officers near 33300 24th Avenue South in a red 1997 Honda that had been reported stolen. Officers ran the vehicle through the system and it, in fact, came back as the missing vehicle. Federal Way police placed both suspects into custody. During their search and investigation, the officers located stolen checks that the suspects had taken as well. Both suspects were arrested and book into the King County Jail. There is no more information about the car theft in the report.
Burglars nab $5k in stuff, including a gun
3. Federal Way police began an investigation after a 911 call reported a burglary at a home on the 31000 block of 8th Avenue South. The incident took place between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. on April 23. Thieves broke into the home, according to the owner, in the morning and lifted several personal items, including a 9mm firearm. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $5,355. The victim could think of no suspects that might be involved in the case, and Federal Way police have suspended the investigation pending new leads.

In a similar incident to the previous entry, another Federal Way resident called 911 to report that an unknown person or persons had broken into their home and stolen various electronic items, as well as a gun, from inside. The incident allegedly took place around 2:38 p.m. on April 23, at an apartment unit at 31844 18th Avenue Southwest. The suspects reportedly entered the residence through a second story window. The gun, a Glock 22, was valued at $500. The police were able to lift latent prints from the scene. There is no other suspect information in this case and the Federal Way police have indicated that the report is ongoing.
Verbally abusive boyfriend threatens to destroy victim's property
5. A woman, who lives in an apartment unit at 2102 Southwest 332nd Street, contacted Federal Way police to report that her boyfriend was being verbally abusive and making threats to her. The woman filed a report, which stated that on April 23, the victim became involved in an argument with her live-in boyfriend. During the argument, she said, the boyfriend threatened to destroy her property if she left him. The victim told officers that the argument was only verbal, but that she took the threats seriously. She told Federal Way police that she wished to have a report to document the threats.

6. A woman, who lives on the 2900 block of Southwest 342nd Place, contacted Federal Way police to report that her boyfriend had threatened her in a message on her myspace account. The woman said she received the threats around 4:40 p.m. on April 23. Officers called the woman to get the report, and the victim relayed that had sent her an electronic message to her myspace account indicating that he was going to kill her. The message did not indicate a time, a place or a method. The woman told police that she was not afraid of him and that she did not want anything done at this time. She told officers that she contacted them and requested a report so that there would be a paper trail in the event he didn't stop his harassment.
Woman reports craigslist ad that might condone illegal activity
7. A Federal Way woman contacted the police to report that she was browsing for an apartment on craigslist.com. The internet posting, the woman said, seemed designed to lure people to the unnamed Federal Way address for sex. The woman directed police to log on to www.craigslist.com/housing and then search for rooms/share posting number 317277098. In her call to 911 around 4:48 p.m. on April 23, she told police that she believed the posting was being used for illegal sex acts.
Nursing home resident dies of heart attack
8. Representatives from the nursing home at 2701 Southwest 323rd Street in Federal Way contacted 911 to report that one of the residents there was possibly having a heart attack. The incident took place around 5:01 p.m. on April 23. Federal Way police and South King Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene and provided aid, but the person died of apparent natural causes. There are no reported signs of foul play and the King County Medical Examiner maintains that it was a natural death. No other information regarding the death is listed in the report.
Abusive boyfriend injures victim then flees from police
9. Federal Way officers arrived at the scene of violent episode of domestic abuse involving a woman and her boyfriend. The boyfriend's name is not listed in the report. The incident took place sometime in the early morning of April 22. The woman's report indicated that she was physically assaulted by her boyfriend over the weekend. The victim had multiple visible injuries and complained of pain. Federal Way offices determined that the boyfriend was not at the scene and a local search did not turn up any leads. The woman lives in an apartment complex at 1300 Southwest Campus Drive. The report does not indicate that the suspect was located, but it does mention that there was a confirmed arrested and a citation in the case.

10. Federal Way police arrived at the scene of some reported vandalism that had taken place at the apartment complex at 1300 Southwest Campus Drive. A witness told police that he heard a large crash from behind unit 21-4. According the report, the incident took place around 8:25 p.m. on April 23. The witness also reported that he went around to look for the source of the noise and saw several juveniles running from the area. He was not able to identify any of the suspects. The witness told police that he then noticed that the suspects had broken the fence near the apartment unit. The estimated cost to repair the damaged fence and broken planks came to $100, the witness told officers in their report. Federal Way officers immediately notified the management of the complex.
