Boys track
Highline All-City
Vincente Cordova won four events in Friday's action at Highline Stadium, taking the javelin at 127-2, the high jump at 6-2, the long jump at 21-2 and the triple jump at 43-7.
David Lopez of Mount Rainier won the shot put at 47-10 and Senio Kelemete of Evergreen won the discus at 149-2.
Highline's Al Jiggs Parades won the pole vault at 10-6 and Evergreen's Charles Webster won the 110 hurdles in 16.5 seconds. DeAngelo Davis won the 300 hurdles in 44.1, with Marlon Murray of Highline winning the 100-meter dash in 10.9, the 200 in 22.2 and the 400 in 51.6.
Ryan Prentice of Mount Rainier won the 800 in 2:05. and the 1,600 in 4:31.8. Josh Simons won the 3,200 for Highline. Mount Rainier won the 400-meter relay in 45.0 and Highline took the 1,600 in 3:44.1.

Highline All-City
Melissa Yapp of Mount Rainier won the shot put at 33-3 1/2 and Evergreen's Naomi Afereti took the discus at 102-3. Seu Hafoka of Evergreen took the javelin at 88-0 and Highline's Sally Phnouk won the high jump at 5-0. Phnouk also won the long jump at 15-9 and the triple jump at 33-7 1/2.
Merissa Mitchell of Highline won the pole vault at 7-0 and Olivia Bement of Mount Rainier the 100 hurdles in 17.5. Mount Rainier's Chelsea Miller won the 300 hurdles in 1:01.1. Whitney Wagner of Highline won the 100-meter dash in 12.7, with Kelly Mason of Highline winning the 200 in 26.5. Megan Sykes of Mount Rainier took the 400 in 1:05.4 and Amanda Powell of Mount Rainier won the 800 in 2:35. Alison Vrbanac won the 1,600 in 5:56.4 and the 3,200 in 12:50.4. Highline won the 400 relay (51.5), 800 relay (1:56.9) and the 1,600 relay (4:33.6).
Seamount championships
Three finals were held on the opening day of the girls meet Wednesday, May 9.
Naomi Afereti of Evergreen won the shot put at 36 feet, 11 1/2 inches and Mount Rainier's Melissa Yapp took second at 35-8.
Melissa Stuckey of Kennedy was the winner of the pole vault at 8-6 and teammate Megan Corbett took third at 7-0. JFK's Jackie Ng took second in the long jump at 15-6.
Five boys championships took place the same day in the action at Renton Stadium.
Evan Bate of Kennedy won the discus at 146-1 and Vincent Cordova of Evergreen took the high jump at 6-3 and the long jump at 22-0. Mount Rainier's Ryan Prentice took the 1,600-meter run in 4:23.75. Alex McHenry placed third in the javelin at 146-9.

Evergreen was shut out on four hits in its preliminary playoff game Saturday, May 5.
Mitchell McElwain hit 2-for-3 and Peter Santie 1-for-2.
Bonney Lk. 4, Highline 2
Highline also took a loss at the hands of a South Puget Sound League 3A team Saturday, May 5.
Both teams mustered only five hits, with David Wagner hitting 1-for-3 with a home run for Highline.
Auburn 8, Mt. Rainier 5
Tyler Freudenthal hit 2-for-2 with one RBI for Mount Rainier in the playoff action against No. 1-ranked Auburn played Saturday, May 5. Chris Bradley hit 1-for-2 and Mike McDermott 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Kelso 4, Highline 3
Highline was edged by Kelso in its opening game at the West Central 3A District Tournament.
Hayden Rovegno hit a double with two RBI and Chris Graham doubled and scored one run.
Peninsula 15, Evergreen 2
Evergreen took a five-inning loss on the 10-run rule in the Tuesday, May 8 WCD tournament game.
Derrick Solomon and Tobias Togi both hit solo home runs in the fourth inning for the Wolverines.
Highline 6, No. Thurston 2
Highline turned around to post a victory in Wednesday, May 9 playoff action.
Ryan Brett hit 2-for-4 on two doubles and Brendan Gardner-Young hit 2-for-4 with two RBI. Rovegno hit 2-for-3 with a double and David Wagner hit a solo home run in the seventh.
Capital 6, Mt. Rainier 4
Kyle Johnson hit 2-for-3 for the Rams in their Wednesday, May 9 playoff loss and Kyle Baskett hit 2-for-4.
Yelm 9, Evergreen 0
Andrew Braegelmann blanked the Wolverines on three hits in a complete game effort Wednesday, May 9. Braegelmann struck out seven.
Tobias Togi tripled for Evergreen.
Boys soccer
Mt. Rainier 1, Enumclaw 0
David Lugo of Mount Rainier earned a shutout in the Tuesday, May 8 Seamount/3A subdistrict tournament and Ian Hamilton scored the only goal on a Derek Coburn assist at the 51:33 mark.
Kennedy 2, Bonney Lake 1
Kennedy prevailed over Bonney Lake in a shootout at the Seamount/3A subdistrict tournament Tuesday, May 8.
Rudi Muschett scored on a Josh Armstrong assist for the Lancers in the 69th minute.
After playing to the tie in regulation, both teams went scoreless in two five-minute overtimes to bring the match down to a shootout -- which JFK won, 4-3.
Chris Blais, Skylar St. Ives, Vince McCluskey and Manuel Medina all scored shootout goals for the Lancers.

Auburn-Riverside put away the Pirates in overtime in the Wednesday, May 9 playoff.
Jesus Cervantes scored Highline's goal 15 seconds into the match on an Andres Suazo-Ramirez assist.
