Just a note to tell you I have appreciated your articles in the Ballard News-Tribune.
I would like train service from Ballard. The water taxis appeal to me too. I propose a water taxi station at the foot of 28th Northwest. There used to be a little tour boat from there called the "Zephyr." I don't think enough people knew about it. I propose that the water taxi run from there to South Lake Union, where there will be buses and soon to be the trolley (?), where we could transfer or even walk to our jobs downtown.
With these big condos opening in the next several months, the downtown Ballard bus stop will be unreal.
Another good - perhaps a better - location might be where the old Yankee Diner is on 24th Northwest just south of Northwest Market. I understand the construction of the Silver Cloud hotel/motel has been delayed. There is currently a large parking lot there, which would be useful for those wanting to drive to the site to board a water taxi. I don't recommend more than one loading spot as that would delay what would probably already be a slower commute. I also hope people would not be yakking on their cell phones. I'm not looking for a faster alternative. I want a better alternative. Thank you.
